How to Assemble Your CoolLights Lamp! : Easy as 1, 2, 3!

Creating Your Lamp is Easy as 1, 2, 3!

CoolLights hopes to bring a fast and easy guide to assembling your custom-designed lamp.

Design.

The first step to designing your CoolLights lamp is by visiting our shop on Etsy. Here you will find our entire selection with many options for customization or choosing from one of our favorites. Your CoolLights lamp should arrive to you within 3-5 business days of purchase and will include all required items necessary to illuminate your space.

Connect.

All CoolLights pieces are made the same and can be pieced together in two major ways. The connections are made by seeing the Front or Back of the piece.

• 
  Front - top of the shape angles upwards
• Back - (indicated by a black dot on assembly layouts) top of shape angles downwards
  

The connections are made by either connecting the Long or Short corners.

The Long corner is located on the left of the Front side.

The Short corner is located on the right of the Front side.\

Most shapes use a Short-To-Short/Long-To-Long connection style as shown in the diagram to the right. This creates a full-bodied, rounder shape design that tends to reconnect after 5 rows.

A Long-To-Short connection is used to create shapes similar to the icicle or Cylinder, elongating the body to a desired length. Instructions for connecting these types of shapes are located here.

All connections require the curved side to be placed into the straight side.

Connecting the Pieces (Short-To-Short/Long-To-Long)

Row 1:

Use the Short-toShort/Long-To-Long  connection style for thtis row. 

Connect 5 pieces together to form a star (3, 4, or 5-point depending on shape)

 

Row 2: 

Extend the star by 1 row continuing using the Short-To-Short/Long-To-Long style. Connect 3 corners of each piece.

 

Be sure to connect the curved side over the straight side. This will widen the shape and will begin to look more similar to a sphere.

 

 Row 3:

Create the third row by again using the Short-To-Short/Long-To-Long style. Connect only 2 corners of the first piece, then 3 corners for all others.

 

Finish offf the third row by connecting all 4 corners on the tenth piece.

 

Rows 4 & 5:

Both rows 4 and 5 follow the same connections as rows 1 and 2. First, connect row 4 by using the Short-To-Short/Long-To-Long style, only connecting 3 corners of each piece.

 

Row 5 will close the lamp forming the same star pattern from Row 1.

 Leave 1 piece unhooked from the center to Connect the Lamp Cord.

Hang.

Connecting the Lamp Cord.

Connecting the cord and hanging yourr lamp is the last step to making your space perfect.

To connect the cord, find the top of the lamp and disconnect 1-2 of the pieces from the Row 5 connection. Lower the socket with the light bulb attached into the lamp and reconnect the corners back together.

Make sure the light bulb hangs in the center of the lamp to give the best light exposure. Move the cord to the center of the connected corners as shown in the diagram to the right.

 

The only thing left is to find where you want to hang your lamp! Each 12-foot cord comes with two preattached tabs and provided hanging hooks to allow for an easy 2-point adjustable hanging fixture. Our 12-inch cords an be easily attached to any lamp socket.
